The Seamus Heaney Fellowship

Tuleburg Press is partnering with the Sligo Scholars Program to send two writer/poets to Ireland in Summer 2022.

The Sligo Scholars Program enables students interested in scholarship regarding Irish literature, culture and tradition to visit the “Land of Heart’s Desire” and participate in the annual Yeats International Summer School.

Sligo Scholars is a fellowship program that began between the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA and the University of California, Berkeley. The program was established by Mr. Ned Leiba in honor and memory of the 1995 Nobel laureate Seamus Heaney, Ned’s 1970 freshman English instructor at Cal. The fellowship began in January 2017, where the first three student scholars were selected to attend the 58th Yeats International Summer School.

NOW, Tuleburg Press is part of the program and offering two additional spots for a Delta College enrolled writer/poet and a writer/poet from the Stockton/San Joaquin community at large.
